Colin Dexter’s appearances in the Lewis series.

Having previously created a video on the appearances of the author Colin Dexter in the Inspector Morse series it was about time I did a video on Mr Dexter’s appearances in the wonderful Lewis series, all nine series. There are a few episodes where I couldn’t find Colin but of course there was a few Morse episodes that he also did not appear in. However, I may have missed him in those episodes where I couldn’t find him. So, if you should find Colin in those particular Lewis episodes let me know via the comment section.

Enjoy and take care.

    • Hi!. Well that’s interesting. Interesting you know Colin Dexter and interesting he says he appeared in all episodes of the last series. I must review the episodes and see if I can find him. Of course he may have been left on the cutting room floor. Thanks for commenting and I hope you enjoyed my video.

  3. I just finished binge watching Inspector Morse and am currently doing the same with Lewis. Unfortunately, the “where’s Waldo” searching for Colin Dexter seems to be interfering with my ability to get all of the facts in the plot. I can only fully concentrate once I have spotted him…but what fun! I only found this site because I didn’t spot him in Counter Culture Blues and now I know why. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I can get back to the DVDs knowing I can relax during the next episode.

  4. Chris, I believe I have three more sightings for you.
4-1 Dead of Winter at about 04:45 there is a couple standing outside of the Eurobar. Can be seen over Lewis’s shoulder as he walks away.
5-4 Gift of Promise at about 12:00, seen in background walking past doorway.
8-3 Beyond Good and Evil at about 38:00 seated on bench outside pub(?) as Hathaway walks in.
The first two are iffy, in the distance, very short screen time. It’s definetly him in 8-3.
    Hope this helps.

  5. Hi Chris, After having watched all the episodes of Lewis so many times ever since they were first broadcast and trying to spot Colin Dexter I made a list for myself. We watched ‘Life born of fire’ yesterday evening and came across a second sighting which I could not find in your videos. Right at the end just after Lewis and Hathaway walk away along the Radcliffe Camera I think it’s Colin walking past in the same direction in a toga. I hope this is helpful.

  6. Hi Chris I think I’ve found another double appearance. We were watching Allegory of love and at 6.13 I think that Colin exits the Randolph (on right) when Hayden enters.
